Car service

In addition to drivers from New Jersey, I also hate car service drivers. This guy refused to let me over and caused me to lose a fare. The thing about car service drivers is, half the time, they're drunk. Seriously. If you take car services regularly enough, you should know this. There's a 24-hour Indian restaurant in Queens that caters primarily to taxi and car service drivers. On a shelf behind the counter are huge jugs of White Horse scotch, which they pour into paper coffee cups and mix with Canada Dry club soda. More than once I've seen a car service driver come in and do a shot with the waiter before taking his little paper-cup cocktail back to his black Lincoln and continuing on his shift.

Sadly I have no choice but to take those a**holes because I live way up in Wash Hts and rarely see a yellow go by.

yeah, those guys are the worst drivers! i cycle around the city a lot and while yellow cabs will usually give you some room, or at least acknowledge that you share the road, lincoln towncar drivers will nearly kill you due to obliviousness. or, apparently, drunkenness.

I had a car service driver who was so drunk one time I feared for my life. She was giving me a ride out to JFK from Park Slope and was all over the road. I was afraid to do anything as it was 5am and we were way out in Brooklyn. I almost got to the point of insisting to drive but we finally made it.

The car service is on the corner of 9th Street Fifth Ave. in Park Slope. Never use them.

Hi. I'm from Finland and work as a cabdriver. This sounds awful, isn't there any reasonable way you could tip the cops off of this stuff? Here, drunken cabbies are _not_ tolerated, noone offers them a job and the checkups are pretty harsh. Also drunk driving and especially driving while under the influence of controlled substances is a quick way to get your cab licence revoked.

Here in Queensland all cab drivers/limo drivers are allowed ZERO% BAC...instant loss of licence if caught with the chance of jailtime as well depending on circumstances... cab company Fleet Supervisors have the authority to have a suspected DUI cabbie pulled into the depot and breath tested by police....thankfully here drivers know the rules so DUI is not a problem

Why are the car service guys such smucks? Theres got to be more cabs then car service guys and thats another thing. If your in New York city and you live on a main street cant you just walk out like a foot and see a cab why do you even need those clowns at all.

Why a car service? Simple. If I need to get to Laguardia and want to leave for the airport at 5:00am I call a car service and they pick me up. That's much easier than roaming Brooklyn at 5:00am trying to find a cab.

They are called Gypsy Cabs when they pick up fares off the street. They take the food out of the mouth of legal taxi drivers. And apparently they are drunks too!

When a big event happens many people like to travel in style with the best chaueffer services they can find. That is why they look at getting limousine London for the big day. Proms, weddings, and even just a party night out so they look like a big shot it is a big deal to roll up in a limo and have the driver open the door for you.
